Merck Foundation also announced the Call for applications for their 8 important awards in partnership with The First Lady of Botswana for Media, Musicians, Fashion Designers, Filmmakers, students, and new potential talents in these fields.

Together with Botswana First Lady, Merck Foundation has provided 1 Scholarship to a doctor for Oncology Fellowship program in India. She successfully completed the course and back to the country to serve the people.

Merck Foundation has also provided 16 scholarships for PG Diploma and MSc in Diabetes and PG Diploma in Endocrinology to young doctors from different provinces in Botswana to strengthen diabetes care in the country.

4 scholarships for PG Diploma and MSc in Acute Medicine and 1 scholarship for Respiratory Medicine have also been provided, along with 1 scholarship for PG Diploma in Dermatology and 1 scholarship for PG Diploma in Gastroenterology.

Considering the limited number of Gynecologists in Botswana, and to significantly improve Women's Health in general and Reproductive Health in particular, Merck Foundation provided 7 scholarships for PG Diploma and MSc in Sexual and Reproductive Medicine. The expertise of trained doctors will help to add significant value to women's health and enhance the ability of the doctors in addressing fertility and infertile couples across Botswana.

An Eventful Year-End for SIMTA Astrix: Making It Big at the Expo

SIMTA participated in the ZAK doors and windows expo in Pragati Maidan, New Delhi, from 1st December to close the year with. This 18th international trade fair was a three-day event where the SIMTA group was represented with two separate stalls – SIMTA Astrix and SIMTA Machinery showcasing specific products. A B2B exhibition with more than 300 traders and manufacturers being present. It created an ambiance where pan India experts assembled to embrace premium quality fabrication machinery and products.

Mr. Sampath Kumar, Managing Director of the SIMTA group, was present at the Expo to elaborate further on the range of uPVC and other premium products of SIMTA. The uPVC doors and windows offered by SIMTA are affordable and sustainable solutions that ensure a high standard of living. He mentioned the fact about the construction industry which is growing at a rapid pace. He added that the growth rate has increased by 17% in the last few years. Moreover, considering diversification as part of the glide path for the coming year, a new product was also launched. It is an exclusive range of doors known as ABS doors. With this, the company confirmed that this would expand the total production capability of SIMTA Astrix by more than 50%. On behalf of SIMTA Astrix, Mr. Sampath Kumar also confirmed the plan to further increase the production capacity to 18,000 TPA by adding four new extruder lines by the end of 2023.

Apart from the existing products, at the ZAK doors and windows expo, SIMTA Astrix launched a range of exclusive doors known as ABS doors. With two decades of business presence and successful collaboration to embrace automation and innovative technology – SIMTA Astrix took the next step in offering yet another eco-friendly product, the ABS doors. ​Hintastica Private Limited (HPL) today announced the commencement of the production of its range of heating appliances at its state-of-the-art manufacturing plant in Jadcherla, Telangana. 

Spanning 5.7 acres, with an initial investment of INR 210 crore, the facility has the capacity to produce six lakh units of water heaters and heating appliances annually and will generate employment for over 500 people directly and indirectly. The plant is built on an environmentally friendly design that utilizes advanced energy saving manufacturing equipment and renewable energy sources.

The opening ceremony was attended by Mr. Sandip Somany- Chairman, Hindware Home Innovation Limited, Mr. Pierre-Louis François- CEO, Groupe Atlantic and Mr. Eric Fajole- Trade Commissioner- Embassy of France in India. Additionally, other senior executives from Groupe Atlantic, strategic partners, and stakeholders were also present during the ceremony.

HPL is set to become a force to be reckoned with since the plant will also support the export of products to neighbouring countries in the SAARC region including Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal, and Sri Lanka. The production at the plant begins with square moulded and cylindrical storage water heater models 'Alivio' and 'Ezro neo' respectively. The first portable water heater 'Kweik' by Hindware Atlantic is also being manufactured in the same plant. 

As per the latest industry reports*, currently, the water heater market in India is INR 2300 crore and is expected to grow to around INR 6100 crore by FY2032 owing to a rise in the adoption of personal electric water heaters in India, rapid urbanization, widespread availability of energy and rising disposable incomes. In addition, there is a rise in the demand for premium home appliance products among the key metros in India. The set-up of the plant brings the company one step closer to fulfilling its ambition to further gain market share in the water heater segment and be in the top three players over the next five years.

The plant has been developed taking into consideration the criteria of sustainability and energy efficiency. The building is as per Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) norms and qualifies for green building certification. It has been equipped with solar panels with a total annual output of approximately 1 Mega Watt. Not only this but all artificial lighting at the plant is guaranteed by a system that exclusively uses LED lamps. The plant also includes an underground rainwater storage tank which guarantees the recovery of 90% of the rainwater to be reused internally at the plant itself. Together with the use of harvested rainwater, greenbelts, and solar power, the plant will utilize renewable energy in its operation. 

Having a dominant presence in manufacturing, developing, and distributing eco-friendly thermal solutions and products, Groupe Atlantic will be supporting HPL with technological expertise to produce best-in-class heating appliances.

Oriano has commissioned two Solar Power Projects for M/s Shree Cement Limited, one of the top three cement groups in India of 10 MWp at Seraikela Kharsawan, Jharkhand & 30 MWp (15 MWp X 2 Nos) at Banka, Bihar. The plant at Jharkhand (10 MWp) was commissioned in the month of Jul 2022, and 30 MWp (15 MWp X 2) plant at Bihar in the month of Jan 2023.

Oriano executed the projects with turnkey scope of Design, Engineering, Supply of Balance of Plant Equipment's, Erection, Commissioning, Testing and O&M. (Supply of Module and Power Evacuation carried out by Shree Cement Limited)

The Projects are captive power plants of Shree Cement Limited and constructed at 11kV and 33kV evacuation level at Jharkhand & Bihar sites respectively using Fixed Tilt MMS with String Inverters and having provision of Fully Automatic Robotic Cleaning System.

Gestamp looks forward to 2023 in India with a new hot stamping line to open later in the year that adds up to the existent two in Pune and one in Chennai. In the BiW area, Gestamp will present some innovations and technologies from the Company´s ICE/EV portfolio. Hot stamping in India for Indian OEMs is very important due to the new GNCAP crash requirements, as conventional parts need to be not only safer but also lighter.

Gestamp delivers validated chassis components from small vehicles to larger ones, from research into advanced technologies, first concepts with design and development, prototyping to complex component testing. The fully integrated production processes in the concept phase include flexible platform solutions for different vehicle powertrains (electric vehicles, plug-in hybrid vehicles and internal combustion engines), with optimal performance and safety requirements being met with minimum weight and the lowest possible CO2 impact.

Gestamp's third business unit in India, well known under the brand name Edscha, showcases for the first time in India at the Auto Expo. In May 2022, Edscha signed a joint venture agreement with Indian automotive supplier Aditya Auto Products & Engineering with location in Chakan, The cooperation thus extends to the development, manufacture and distribution of hinge systems, door checks, latches and parking brakes. Through the 50:50 joint venture, Edscha secures direct access to the Indian market.
 
"With innovations such as the Active Frunk," Edscha Sales Director VW-Group Jörg Paulus said, "we offer a state-of-the-art solution specially tailored to electric vehicles. Where there is still a combustion engine in most vehicles today, space is freed up in the electric vehicle that can be used as an additional luggage compartment, for example." The Active Frunk combines an actuator for automatic opening and closing of the front lid with a hinge for active pedestrian protection.
 
In the area of sliding doors, Edscha develops customized solutions for passenger cars and commercial vehicles. In addition to the lower, middle and upper roller, the focusing on the rails developing, among other things, a multi-part rail in which both aluminum and plastic components can be used.
