After several days of movement in gold prices and reaching closer to Rs 60,000, there has been no variation in the price of gold in the last twenty four hours. On 31 March (Friday), the pure gold is priced at Rs 59,670 and standard gold was being traded at Rs 54,350. On 30 March (Thursday), the prices were the same after witnessing a minor bump of Rs 220 in pure gold and Rs 200 in standard gold from 29 March (Wednesday).
Foreign Trade Policy 2023: The government on Friday came out with Foreign Trade Policy (FTP) 2023 which eyes USD 2 trillion in exports by 2030. The FTP is expected to boost India's exports to USD 2 trillion by shifting from incentives to remission and entitlement-based regimes.

With the start of a new month, 24 carat gold has finally touched the Rs 60,000 mark. On 1 April (Saturday), the 24 carat gold was priced at Rs 60,000, witnessing a jump of Rs 330 in 24 hours and the 22 carat gold was priced at Rs 55,000, registering an increase of Rs 300. On 31 March, the pure gold was at Rs 59,670 and standard gold was at Rs 54,700.
India Malaysia trade agreement: Trade between India and Malaysia can now be settled in Indian Rupee (INR) in addition to the current modes of settlement in other currencies. This follows the decision by the Reserve Bank of India in July 2022 to allow the settlement of international trade in the Indian Rupee (INR).

GST collection March 2023: Recording a growth, the gross GST revenue in March month rose to Rs 1,60,122 crore as compared with Rs 1,49,577 crore during February this year.
Benchmark Interest Rate: Reserve Bank of India is expected to hike the benchmark interest rate by 25 basis points. Under pressure to bring down retail inflation and keep pace with global peers, the RBI might take this step on April 6. Before coming out with the bi-monthly monetary policy for fiscal 2023-24 on Thursday, the Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) of the Reserve Bank will be meeting for three days on April 3, 5 and 6 to take into account various domestic and global factors.
Saudi Arabia oil production: Saudi Arabia today (April 2) said that it will cut oil production by 5,00,000 barrels per day from May until the end of 2023. The move would likely raise prices at the pump, further straining relations between Riyadh and Washington as the world copes with inflation fuelled in part by the war in Ukraine.
