Equity benchmark Sensex climbed over 460 points to reclaim the 61,000 mark while the Nifty closed above the 18k level on Friday, propelled by robust buying in index majors Reliance Industries and ITC amid fresh foreign fund inflows. Rallying for the fifth straight session, the 30-share BSE Sensex jumped 463.06 points or 0.76 per cent to settle at 61,112.44. During the day, it surged 560.08 points or 0.92 per cent to 61,209.46.

In the previous reporting week, the overall kitty had risen by USD 1.657 billion to USD 586.412 billion.   It can be noted that in October 2021, the country's forex kitty had reached an all-time high of USD 645 billion. The reserves have been declining as the central bank deployed the kitty to defend the rupee amid pressures caused majorly by global developments.

The government appointed Siddharth Mohanty was appointed as the new Chairman of the Life Insurance Corporation (LIC) on Friday. The insurer's former Managing Director B C Patnaik has been appointed as the Member (Life) of the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (Irdai).
New Delhi: Online food delivery platform Swiggy has started charging all users a "platform fee" of Rs 2 per food order. The charge will remain the same irrespective of the order value. The platform fee is only  applicable on food delivery and is currently not applicable to Instamart deliveries.
