Go First news: Go First chief Kaushik Khona has told employees that the airline has been crippled by recurring Pratt & Whitney engine troubles and assured that the carrier is doing everything possible to navigate the situation with utmost care and concern for all staff.

Business news: Air India and Vistara have entered into an interline partnership which would enable passengers to travel between the two airline's network seamlessly. Under this partnership, passengers will now be able to receive their boarding passes at the first point of departure for all the travel sectors on a single ticket, and have their baggage checked-in through to their final destinations.
El Nino impact: Amid concerns over the possible impact of evolving El Nino conditions on monsoon rains, the Centre on Wednesday advised states to be prepared for the "worst situation" and ensure adequate availability of seeds for Kharif sowing season in case of less rainfall.
India's overall coal production stood at 893.08 million tonnes in 2022-23 as compared to 778.19 in 2021-22, showing a growth of 14.78 percent.
Recycling player Gravita India Ltd on Wednesday said it has raised 34 million euros in loan facility from two European developmental financial institutions. Shares of the company surged 10 percent following the announcement.

Go First bankruptcy: Air India may hire Go First cabin and cockpit crew as part of its mega expansion plans after the news of Go First going into bankruptcy, according to sources. Air India had placed a historic order for about 500 aircraft recently, and it will need crew for the operations.
The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) on Thursday directed crisis-hit airline Go First, which has filed for bankruptcy, to process the refunds to passengers as per the timelines specifically stipulated in the relevant regulation.
Lufthansa Airlines News: One of the largest international airlines, Deutsche Lufthansa, on Thursday grounded a third of the 30-strong Airbus SE A220 fleet in Switzerland due to issues with Pratt & Whitney engines. 
Ahmedabad: Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Ltd (APSEZ) on Thursday (May 4) said that it has concluded the Myanmar Port sale for a total consideration of USD 30 million.  In May 2022, APSEZ announced signing of a Share Purchase Agreement (SPA) for the sale of its Myanmar Port. The SPA had certain Condition Precedents (CPs), including completion of the project and relevant approvals for smooth conduct of business by the buyer.

Mumbai: Equity benchmark indices ended nearly 1 per cent higher on Thursday amid continuous foreign fund inflows and buying in index majors HDFC twins and Reliance Industries. The 30-share BSE Sensex climbed 555.95 points or 0.91 per cent to settle at 61,749.25. During the day, it rallied 604.61 points or 0.98 per cent to 61,797.91.
ADB Annual Meeting: Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has invited investors to become a part of the journey of the Indian economy in Amrit Kaal, the 25-year journey towards its centenary as a modern nation, saying it is full of new opportunities for growth and investments.

IndiGo on Thursday said its Airbus aircraft are expected to be a bit lighter in weight following aviation safety regulator DGCA granting it approval to remove Technical Paper Manuals. The regulatory nod allows the airline to remove Technical Paper Manuals weighing 40 kg from each aircraft cockpit of its Airbus fleet, IndiGo said in a statement.
New Delhi: Vistara, the Indian full-service carrier, announced on Thursday (May 4) that it has become the first Indian airline to operate a commercial domestic flight on a wide-body aircraft using sustainable aviation fuel (SAF). As per the airlines,  it operated a Boeing 787 aircraft on the Delhi-Mumbai route using sustainable aviation fuel.

Mumbai: The Reserve Bank on Thursday instructed banks and other financial institutions to ensure cross-border as well as domestic wire transfers contain complete information about the originator and beneficiary. The central bank has updated instructions in the Master Direction on Know Your Customer (KYC) related to wire transfers and also aligned the same with the relevant recommendation of the Financial Action Task Force (FATF).
