Lodha Oakwood School recently conducted the Yuvamanthan Model G20 Summit, a first-of-its-kind inter-school G20 simulation. The summit successfully empowered the youth of our nation to be future leaders by assessing pressing global issues and deliberating on impactful resolutions. This novel initiative is a testimony to Lodha's unwavering commitment to build a better nation through its outreach programmes in child education and women empowerment. 
 
The three- day enthralling event witnessed the participation of the 16 most renowned schools of the country, with each school team representing a G20 country. The team members assumed the roles of Prime Ministers, Finance Ministers, Sherpas, and Foreign Ministers. The Chief Guests at the event were Mr. Abhishek Lodha, CEO- Macrotech Developers and Mr. Sonam Wangchuk, celebrated personality, engineer, innovator and education reformist. A few of the prominent jury panellists included Mr. Rob Anderson, Head of Engagement- US Consulate, Mrs. Meera Isaacs, ex-Principal & Dean- Cathedral & John Connon School in Mumbai and Dr. Ritesh Jain, Founder- Infynit.
 
The first day entailed each of the assumed ministers imparting their strategies to advance their respective countries. The second day had the leaders of each country work collectively to present their findings along with a celebratory awards ceremony. The third and concluding day of the event included each country sharing their conclusions through encapsulating reels on the representing countries, along with a global cultural fair to celebrate the diverse cultures of the world.
 
The winners in the category of Best Team Delegations include G.D. Somani Memorial School as the first winner that represented the United Kingdom, St. Mary's School as the second winner that represented Turkey and Lodha World School, Taloja as the third winner that represented Saudi Arabia. They were commemorated for their outstanding accomplishments. Additionally, the winning ideas have been shared with Y20 India, the official youth engagement group for the G20.

Harpic, the leading brand in the lavatory care category, unveiled a special kit based on the 'Sanitation Hygiene Education Framework' in collaboration with Sesame Workshop India Trust. The innovative 'Swoosh Germs Away!' kit has been designed in alignment with the National Education Policy (NEP, 2020) and National Curriculum Framework (2022) to support Harpic's Mission Swachhta aur Paani campaign. The aim of this unique kit is to enhance awareness and cultivate healthy toilet habits in young children, thereby instilling in them the importance of "sanitation for good health".
 
As part of the program, Harpic and Sesame Workshop India Trust will distribute kits to 17 lakh children in the Ashramshalas of Puri, Odisha. These kits, featuring 3D pop-up books, 3D jigsaw puzzles, and an activity booklet, will be presented with the help of Sesame's beloved characters Elmo, Chamki, Neela Jaadugar, and KK Kitanu. The initiative is part of Harpic's mission to ensure "safer toilets for all" and will provide the children with the knowledge to become young ambassadors who understand the importance of cleanliness and hygiene. In addition, they will be encouraged to take the pledge to keep toilets clean for the next person, with the opportunity to be recognised as 'Swachhta Champions'.
 
The kit is specially designed to transcend language barrier and promote positive behaviour among school children through the power of storytelling. Sesame Workshop's colourful and furry muppet characters are loved by children and applauded globally, for championing ways of addressing the critical issues concerning children. The curriculum developed for the program is aimed at fostering a love for storytelling while encouraging positive values and behaviours. In line with the objective of Harpic Mission Swachhta aur Paani campaign, the framework is based on 3 key pillars - access, usage and maintenance, and focuses on spreading the message of: having a safe toile -a right, using a safe toilet- a habit, and driving behaviour change - maintaining it safe.

The Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Chennai, India, launched its new and spacious visa application centres in Chennai and Bengaluru starting 1 September 2023 for the convenience of travellers in that region.

Travellers to South Korea from Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Pondicherry, and Tamil Nadu will now be able to submit their applications with ease for all visa categories, including express visa applications, at these state-of-the-art South Korea visa application centres (KVACs) from Monday to Friday, 9AM to 1PM for individuals, 9AM to 12PM for travel agents, 10AM to 3PM for passport collection.

Operated with assistance from VFS Global, the world's largest outsourcing and technology services specialist for governments and diplomatic missions, these KVACs also offer optional services for discerning set of applicants.

The Embassy is already operating KVACs in New Delhi and Kolkata since 2011.

South Korea is promoting tourism from India to the East Asian country in a big way as the two countries commemorate the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between them.
