Stock market: The equity benchmark indices opened on a negative note amid mixed global cues on Wednesday. The 30-share BSE Sensex fell 202.34 points to 65,743.13. The Nifty declined 60.55 points to 19,604.15. Among the Sensex firms, Bajaj Finance, Tech Mahindra, Tata Steel, HDFC Bank, Titan and ICICI Bank were the major laggards. Bank Holiday on Eid-e-Milad: Banks across the nation will remain closed on the occasion of Eid-E-Milad today (September 28). But, in some parts of India, banks will also remain closed on Friday (September 29) due to Milad-i-Sherif or Prophet Muhammad's birthday. 
As many as six infrastructure projects of roads and railways worth Rs 52,000 crore have been recommended for approval under the PM Gati Shakti initiative, an official statement said on Thursday. This takes the total number of projects assessed by the Network Planning Group (NPG) to 112, amounting to approximately Rs 11.53 lakh crore since the inception of PM Gati Shakti.

The Indian stock market experienced a sharp decline, with the Sensex dropping by more than 600 points during trading hours on Thursday. The BSE Sensex concluded the day at 65,508, reflecting a significant decrease.
The last date to deposit Rs 2,000 notes in banks or exchange them with other notes is September 30. So only last two days - today and tomorrow left to exchange notes. It is noteworthy that the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) had announced on May 19 that Rs 2,000 notes would be taken out of circulation. After that, 4 months time was given to exchange the notes or deposit them in the bank. According to RBI, Rs 2,000 notes worth about Rs 24,000 crore have still not arrived in the bank. In such a situation, the big question is what will happen if you have Rs 2000 notes and you are not able to exchange them till 30th September?

After that, 4 months time was given to exchange the notes or deposit them in the bank. According to RBI, Rs 2,000 notes worth about Rs 24,000 crore have still not arrived in the bank. In such a situation, the big question is what will happen if you have Rs 2000 notes and you are not able to exchange them till 30th September? 
Tata-owned Air India has achieved a historic milestone as it successfully acquired India's first Airbus A350-900 aircraft through a finance lease transaction with HSBC through theGujarat International Finance Tec-City (GIFT City). This is also the first wide-body aircraft to be leased through the GIFT City, the country's first International Financial Services Centre (IFSC).

Prices are adjusted on an annual basis, taking into consideration various factors, including inflation, DHL Express said.
India's foreign exchange reserves dropped by USD 2.335 billion to USD 590.702 billion for week ended on September 22, 2023, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) said.

The government on Friday raised the interest rate on the five-year recurring deposit scheme to 6.7 per cent from 6.5 per cent for the December quarter. With this, the government retained the rates for all other small savings schemes. The interest rate on savings deposits has been retained at 4 per cent and on the one-year term deposit at 6.9 per cent, according to a finance ministry circular.
