Ajay Goel quits as Byju's CFO, rejoins Vedanta

New Delhi: Finance professional Ajay Goel quit BYJU's and returned to Vedanta Ltd as the new chief financial officer as the Anil Agarwal-controlled mining conglomerate heads into an ambitious business restructuring. Goel had quit from Vedanta earlier this year to join education startup BYJU's. He replaced Sonal Shrivastava who resigned from the post months after joining. Vedanta said in a stock exchange filing that Goel has been appointed CFO of the company with effect from October 30, 2023. "As part of Vedanta's structured re-hiring programme called 'Gharwapsi', Mr. Ajay Goel joins back the company," it said.
Indian economy: India, the world's fifth largest economy in the world, is likely to overtake Japan to become the world's third-largest economy with a GDP of USD 7.3 trillion by 2030, S&P Global Market Intelligence said in its latest issue of PMI. After two years of rapid economic growth in 2021 and 2022, the Indian economy has continued to show sustained strong growth during the 2023 calendar year.
India's renewable sector is booming. It is now a global leader in the renewable energy market. The government's policies and initiatives, coupled with foreign investments have pushed New Delhi among the top three largest producers of renewable energy in the world. This bullish trend was mirrored by the broader Nifty index as well.
New Delhi: The Union Cabinet on Wednesday (October 25) approved subsidy worth Rs 22,303 crore on P&K fertilisers for the current Rabi season to ensure that the Indian farmers are not affected by the rising prices of fertilisers in the international market.
Reserve Bank of India: The Reserve Bank of India today (October 25) asked private banks and wholly-owned subsidiaries of foreign banks to ensure at least two Whole Time Directors (WTDs), including the MD & CEO, on their boards to facilitate succession planning.

"Exports on onion is free. MEP of USD 800 FOB (free on board) per tonne is imposed till December 31, 2023," the Directorate General of Foreign Trade said in a notification.

Multibagger stock set to announce bonus, dividend and buyback

Bonus, dividend, and buyback are three kinds of corporate events that listed companies on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) and Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) announce in a bid to reward their investors. The year 2023 has seen a flurry of such announcements. IFL Enterprises which is a multibagger stock, is all set to announce a triple bonanza for its investors. 
In a positive trading session today, the Bombay Stock Exchange's benchmark index, Sensex, witnessed a rise of 40 points, while the National Stock Exchange's Nifty index successfully surged above the 19,285 mark. The Indian stock markets displayed resilience and maintained an upward trajectory. The Sensex, which comprises 30 large-cap companies listed on the BSE, opened at 62,987.25 points and eventually settled at 63,031.91 points, marking a gain of 0.07% or 40.73 points compared to its previous closing. This bullish trend was mirrored by the broader Nifty index as well.
New Delhi: The Union Cabinet on Wednesday (October 25) approved subsidy worth Rs 22,303 crore on P&K fertilisers for the current Rabi season to ensure that the Indian farmers are not affected by the rising prices of fertilisers in the international market.
Reserve Bank of India: The Reserve Bank of India today (October 25) asked private banks and wholly-owned subsidiaries of foreign banks to ensure at least two Whole Time Directors (WTDs), including the MD & CEO, on their boards to facilitate succession planning.

Sensex plunges 500 points; Nifty falls 160 points at 18,962

Markets opened at a loss on Thursday amid negative trend in global markets and fresh foreign fund outflows. The 30-share BSE Sensex plunged 502.5 points to 63,546.56. The Nifty fell 159.55 points to 18,962.60.
Baap of Chart SEBI: Clamping down on unauthorised investment advisory services offered in the name of 'Baap of Chart', regulator the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) on Wednesday (October 25) barred three entities from the securities market and ordered impounding illegal gains worth over Rs 17 crore.

Air India appoints Klaus Goersch as COO

Klaus Goersch has been appointed as the Executive Vice President and Chief Operations Officer (COO) of Air India on Friday. Other than this, Several other senior level positions were also filled. In the newly-created position at the airline, Goersch will oversee flight operations, engineering, ground operations, Integrated Operations Control and cabin crew functions.
Household budgets have been strained after the price of onions reached Rs 65-70 per kg in the national capital while the onion traders are putting the blame for the sudden spike in prices on a shortage in supply.  As per traders, onions that were priced at Rs 25-30 per kg before Navratri have gone up to Rs 55-60 per kg in three days and these are being sold at Rs 65-70 per kg in the markets.
New Delhi: The government on Saturday (October 28) imposed a minimum export price (MEP) of USD 800 per tonne on onion exports till December 31, 2023, aiming to increase the availability of vegetable in the domestic market and contain prices. "Exports on onion is free. MEP of USD 800 FOB (free on board) per tonne is imposed till December 31, 2023," the Directorate General of Foreign Trade said in a notification.
New Delhi: Food regulator FSSAI has stressed on ensuring safe food to students and asked state authorities to provide trainings to those handling food items in canteens of hostels and universities. Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) CEO G Kamala Vardhana Rao on Saturday addressed the 42nd Central Advisory Committee (CAC) meeting at Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir.
